American Sentinel University, an online education institution headquartered in Aurora, Colorado, has announced the appointment of three women to dean posts.
Judy Burckhardt was named dean of nursing programs. Previously, she was dean of nursing and health programs for Kaplan Higher Education Campuses. Dr. Burckhardt is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago. She holds a master’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a doctorate in educational administration from the University of Nebraska.
Gloria Ohmart was appointed associate dean of undergraduate nursing programs. She is the former dean of academic affairs for the Chamberlain College of Nursing. Dr. Ohmart is a graduate of Metropolitan State University in Denver and holds a master’s degree in nursing from Emory University and an educational doctorate from the University of Phoenix.
Cheryl Wagner was named associate dean of graduate nursing programs. She was an associate professor and program director in the College of Nursing at South University. Dr. Wagner is a graduate of Marycrest College in Davenport, Iowa. She holds a master’s degree, an MBA, and a doctorate in nursing administration from the University of Iowa.
Dr. Gregory was appointed interim president of Jackson State University in May 2025. Prior to that appointment, she was the university's provost and vice president of academic affairs.
Dr. Jones currently serves as vice president of education and chief academic officer at the College of Lake County. She is slated to become the community college's interim president on May 1.
Dr. Ballabina has over three decades of experience with Texas A&M University and the university system. She currently serves as the system's executive vice chancellor.

Dr. Gibbs has been serving as dean of the division of business and economics at Morehouse College in Atlanta. She is slated to become the first woman president of historically Black Texas College on July 1.
The selected candidate should have expertise and experience in theoretical models in labor and public economics as well as in microeconometrics and programming.
