In Memoriam: Brenda Susan Banker, 1950-2024

Brenda Susan Banker, former faculty member with the University of Delaware, passed away on May 12. She was 74 years old.

Dr. Banker began her career in higher education as an administrative assistant with Goldey Beacom Community College in Wilmington, Delaware. After several years with the community college, she decided to pursue an education with the University of Delaware.

Upon receiving graduate degrees from the University of Delaware, Dr. Banker went on to teach classes with the university’s psychology and women’s studies programs. Her teaching and research interests focused on blended families, leading her to author several academic publications.

Dr. Banker was a three-time graduate of the University of Delaware, where she received her bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and Ph.D. in psychology.
