New Faculty Positions for Five Women in Higher Education

Lynn Worcester Jones has been named associate professor of piano pedagogy and coordiator of group piano at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She most recently served as an associate professor and keyboard area coordinator at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, where she established the university’s bachelor of music degree program in piano performance and pedagogy.

Dr. Jones is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton where she received her bachelor of music and master of music degrees in piano performance. She holds a second master’s degree in piano pedagogy and performance from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and a doctor of musical arts degree in piano performance and pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma.

Anna M. Nogar has been named associate dean of humanities in the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of New Mexico. She first joined the university in 2007 as a visiting lecturer and now serves as an associate professor in the department of Spanish and Portuguese. She has authored and translated numerous publications on Mexican literature including El Feliz Ingenio Neomexicano: Felipe M. Chacón and Poesía y Prosa (University of New Mexico Press, 2021).

Dr. Nogar is an honors graduate of the University of New Mexico where she double-majored in biochemistry and Spanish. She holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. in Hispanic literature from the University of Texas.

Lisa Krantz has been appointed to the faculty of the School of Journalism at the University of Montana, where she will teach courses on visual journalism and photojournalism. She previously served as a staff photographer with the San Antonio Express-News for nearly two decades. Earlier in her career, she taught as an adjunct professor at Texas A&M University San Antonio.

Krantz holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Florida State University and a master’s degree in photography from Syracuse University. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Missouri.

Amy Hite has been named director of nursing in the Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing at Pittsburg State University in Kansas. She has been a faculty member with the university for the past two decades. Outside of academia, she has worked as a nurse practitioner with several hospitals.

Dr. Hite is a two-time alumna of Pittsburg State University where she received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in nursing. She holds a doctorate in nursing from the University of Kansas. She is currently pursuing a second doctorate in educational leadership from Lindenwood University in St. Charles Missouri.

Colleen M. Ryan has been named vice provost for faculty at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. She currently serves as associate vice provost for faculty and professor of Italian at Indiana University Bloomington. Her new position at Tufts University includes a faculty appointment in the department of romance studies.

Dr. Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in French and government from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, a master’s degree in Italian language and literature from Middlebury College in Vermont, and a Ph.D. in twentieth-century Italian literature and film studies from Indiana University.
