Jennifer Gwilym Honored for Leadership in Osteopathic Family Medicine

Jennifer Gwilym, associate clinical professor of family medicine at Ohio University, has received the Outstanding Female Leader of the Year Award from the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. The annual award is presented to a woman physician whose professional accomplishments and leadership serve as inspiration to men and women who are in medical training.

Dr. Gwilym’s career with Ohio University began in 2012 as an assistant professor of family medicine in the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She was promoted to associate clinical professor last year. She has served as assistant dean of clinical education for seven years and chair of the department of primary care for two years. She has held leadership positions with professional organizations as well, having previously served as president of both the Ohio Osteopathic Association and the Ohio American College of Osteopathic Physicians. Outside of her academic appointments, she is a practicing physician with Oakview Dermatology in Athens, Ohio.

Dr. Gwilym received her bachelor’s degree in biological and biomedical sciences and doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Ohio University.
