Louise Vale was appointed vice chancellor for administration at the University of Colorado’s flagship campus in Bolder. She has been serving as director of internal audit for the University of Colorado system. She will begin her new job on September 10.
Vale is the former associate vice chancellor for budget and operations at the University of Colorado at Denver and also serves as assistant to the dean of budget and planning in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Laura Baldwin was promoted to chief marketing and communications officer at Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvania. She has been serving as the director of marketing for the College of Global Studies at the university. She has been on the staff at Arcadia since 2007.
Baldwin is a graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia and earned an MBA from Arcadia University.
Darby Ray was named director of the Harward Center for Community Partnerships at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. She was a professor of religion and director of community engagement at Millsaps College in Mississippi.
Dr. Ray is a graduate of The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in religion from Vanderbilt University.
Lisa Hadden was named executive director of the Michigan Area Health Education Center at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant. She has been serving as president of the Mount Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce.
The center was established by a federal grant to recruit, train, and retain a diverse health care workforce in rural central Michigan.
Sarah Latham was appointed vice chancellor of business and administrative services at the University of California Santa Cruz. She has been serving as vice president for operations and planning at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.
Dr. Latham is a graduate of the University of Alabama Birmingham. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in public administration and policy from Florida State University.
Laurie Kirsch, professor of business administration and senior associate dean for professional programs at the graduate school of business at the University of Pittsburgh, was promoted to vice provost for faculty development at the university.
Dr. Kirsch is a graduate of Ohio State University. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Iowa and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.
Peggy Kuhr was named interim vice president for integrated communications at the University of Montana. She has been serving as dean of the university’s School of Journalism. She will return to her duties as dean once a permanent vice president is hired.
Kuhr is a graduate of the University of Montana and holds a master’s degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.
Melinda Hamilton was appointed director of STEM initiatives at the University of Idaho. She has been serving as director of educational programs at the Idaho National Laboratory. Her new appointment is effective on October 14.
Dr. Hamilton holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Nevada at Reno. She earned a Ph.D. in soil science at Utah State University.
Carol McCusker was named curator of photography at the Harn Museum of Art on the campus of the University of Florida. She will be the first person to hold the endowed curatorship at the museum. McCusker is the former curator of photography at the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego. She was also an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego and the University of California at San Diego.
Dr. McCusker is a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art. She received a master’s degree and Ph.D. in art history with an emphasis on the history of photography and film at the University of New Mexico.
