Seven Women Appointed to Administrative Posts at Universities

Stephanie Brady has been appointed chief advancement officer for student affairs at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Most recently, Brady was the assistant vice president of the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. She has over 20 years of professional experience with a background in non-profit fundraising and higher education advancement.

Brady holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Virginia Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in gender and cultural studies from Simmons University in Boston.

Padonda B. Webb has been named assistant vice chancellor of health and wellness in the Division of Student Affairs at North Carolina A&T State University. She has been with the university for the past eight years, currently serving as executive director of the Dr. Alvin V. Blount Jr. Student Health Center.

Dr. Webb is an alumna of North Carolina A&T State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She holds a master’s degree in nursing from Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina, and a doctor of nursing practice degree from the University of South Alabama.

Barbara Chappell has been appointed acting vice president of the Division of Institutional Advancement at Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She most recently served as vice president of development at Butler Academy, a charter school in Hartsville, South Carolina.

Chappell received her bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of North Dakota and a master’s degree in management and leadership from Coker University in Hartsville, South Carolina.

Joanne Jones has been appointed comptroller for Alabama A&M University. She has over 25 years of experience within the higher education industry, previously serving as controller for Western Carolina University and university controller for Winston-Salem State University.

Jones holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Hima Vatti has been named general counsel for the University of La Verne in California. She mostly recent served as associate general counsel for the California Institute of Technology for nearly 10 years. She has nearly two decades of experience as an attorney.

Vatti received her bachelor’s degree in art history from Stanford University and her juris doctorate from Harvard University.

Katie Wilson has been appointed associate dean for student life at Oregon State University Cascades. She has spent the past decade serving as the inaugural director of the Armstrong Student Center at Miami University in Ohio. She has held various student affairs leadership positions at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Oregon State University Corvallis, the University of Oregon, Southern Oregon University, and Stony Brook University in New York.

Dr. Wilson double majored in history and religious studies at the University of Virginia. She received her master’s degree in college student personnel services from Miami University and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Oregon.

Sara Parrott has been promoted to director of the Office of International Students and Scholars at the University of Arkansas. She most recently served the office as assistant director of welcome and belonging. She has over a decade of experience in international student support positions.

Parrott earned her bachelor’s degree in intercultural studies from Southwestern Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri, and her master’s degree in second languages from the University of Arkansas Little Rock.

Most recently, Dr. Sanders served as vice president of experiential product management and interim vice president of product and technology at Western Governors University.
