Elisabeth Mermann-Jozwiak was named as next provost and dean of the faculty at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, effective July 1. She has spent the last four years as the provost at Bucknell University Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. She spent six years at Gonzaga University where she served as the dean of the college of arts and sciences and interim academic vice president. Prior to that, Dr. Mermann-Jozwiak was a professor of English and an associate dean of the college of liberal arts at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. She is the author of Conversations with Mexican American Writers: Languages and Literatures in the Borderlands (University Press of Mississippi, 2009).
Dr. Mermann-Jozwiak holds master’s degree from University of Cologne in Germany and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Anne Dahlman was appointed provost and vice president for academic affairs at Northern Michigan University in Marquette. She most recently served as interim associate provost and interim dean of global education at Minnesota State University Mankato.
Dr. Dahlman earned a master’s degree in Swedish/German education from the University of Joensuu in Finland, her native country. She earned a second master’s degrees in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and German from Colorado State University. Dr. Dahlman earned a doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction at the University of Minnesota.
Diana McGill was named provost and executive vice president of academic and student affairs at Northern Kentucky University. Dr. McGill joined the faculty at the university in 1993 in the department of chemistry and has spent her entire professional career at the university. She served as department chair from 2003-2012, interim dean in 2016-2017, and as dean of the of the College of Arts and Sciences since July 2017.
Dr. McGill holds bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and biology from Northern Kentucky University. She earned a Ph.D. in biochemsitry from Harvard University.
With over 25 years of experience in higher education, business, and public service, Dr. Kollmann has been serving as chancellor of the New Mexico State University Global Campus. She is slated to become the next president of Vermont State University in July.
