Three Women Who Have Been Appointed to Dean Posts in Higher Education

Raquel Engolio was appointed dean of the School of Nursing at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Dr. Engolio joined the faculty at Nicholls State University in 2019. Before arriving at Nicholls, she served for 12 years as an assistant and associate professor at the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans.

Dr. Engolio holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a doctorate in education from the University of Holy Cross. She also holds a master’s degree in nursing education from the University of South Alabama.

Kathleen Bombery has been named the new dean for academic affairs overseeing health sciences and online learning at Ogeechee Technical College in Statesboro, Georgia. Previously she was dean for health sciences at Savannah Technical College in Georgia. Earlier she was the associate dean of health sciences at Chattahoochee Technical College in Marietta, Georgia.

Bombery is a graduate of Stockton University in Galloway, New Jersey, where she majored in public health. She holds a master’s degree in health education from Montclair State University in New Jersey.

Lisa Snyder is the new executive dean of Pueblo Community College’s Southwest campus in Mancos, Colorado. She is the former dean for the School of Humanities at San Juan College in Farmington, New Mexico, and was the associate vice president for academic affairs at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. She previously served on the faculty at the State University of New York at Oneonta and Eastern Oregon University.

Dr. Snyder is a graduate of SUNY-New Platz, where she majored in English. She holds a master’s degree in curriculum development and instructional technology from the University at Albany and a doctorate in instructional leadership from Argosy University.
