Cleveland State Community College in Tennessee Chooses Its Next President

Ty R. Stone has been selected to serve as the next president of Cleveland State Community College in Tennessee.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be recommended for the new president of Cleveland State Community College. I look forward to working alongside the students, faculty, staff, and the Cleveland community to continue CLSCC&’s strong legacy of success in the region,” Dr. Stone said.

Cleveland State Community College enrolls just over 3,000 students, according to the most recent information available through the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 60 percent of the student body.

Since 2017, Dr. Stone has served as the sixth president of Jefferson Community College in Watertown, New York. Earlier, she was vice president for strategic initiatives at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. She first joined the staff there in 2010. Previously, Dr. Stone was director of business operations of the Dayton YWCA and was an air traffic controller for the U.S. Air Force.

A graduate of what is now Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, Maryland, Dr. Stone earned an MBA from Trinity Washington University and a doctorate in organization and management from Capella University.
