Alice V. Letteney, chancellor of the Valencia campus of the University of New Mexico, has announced that she will retire on July 31. She has led the Valencia campus for 27 years.
“It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve as the chief officer for UNM-Valencia Campus,” Letteney said. “Our team of excellent faculty and staff including our deans, our chief student services and administrative officers have given our students the opportunity for a first-rate education.”
Dr. Letteney earned her bachelor’s degree from Reed College in Portland, Oregon. She holds a master’s degree and a doctorate from the University of Connecticut.
Lynn Morton, president of Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, North Carolina since 2017, has announced that she will retire at the end of the academic year. She is the first woman to serve as president of the college.
Before being named president, Dr. Morton spent 27 years on the faculty at Queens University of Charlotte. From 2014 to 2017, she was provost and vice president for academic affairs.
Dr. Morton is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she double majored in English and history. She holds a master’s degree in British literature from the University of Nevada, Reno and a Ph.D. in Renaissance and Medieval British literature from the University of South Carolina.
