Colleges and Universities Announce the Appointment of Seven Women to Administrative Posts

Erin Martinovich has been appointed vice president for university advancement at Alfred University in New York, effective January 1. Martinovich comes to Alfred from the University of Rochester, where she has served since 2018 as executive director of annual giving programs.

Martinovich earned a bachelor’s degree in public communication in 1993 from the College of St. Rose in Albany, New York.

Penya M. Moses has been named chief operating officer at Grambling State University in Louisiana. She has served in various roles with the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Service’s Office of the General Counsel. She has also taught business law and tax accounting at Nuñez Community College in Chalmette, Louisiana.

Moses earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Grambling State University. She holds a juris doctorate from Loyola University School of Law, and a master’s degree in taxation from Villanova University School of Law in Pennsylvania.

Robyn Fergus was promoted to vice president for human resources at Colorado State University. She was the executive director of human resources. Fergus joined the staff at the university in 2019 following 16 years with the Denver and Jefferson County school districts.

Fergus is a graduate of Michigan State University where she majored in interdisciplinary studies with a focus on business.

Terri Stewart has been named director of campus safety at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. She has been serving as director of the department of campus safety at Nazareth College in Rochester, New York. She will take up her new position on January 3.

A graduate of Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in communications, Stewart earned a master’s degree in organizational management and development at Trinity Washington University.

Cat Alves was appointed director of athletics and recreation at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. Alves arrived at John Jay College in May 2013 as the associate director of finance and administration and held that role for two years. Alves was then promoted to senior associate director and has served as the deputy director of athletics since 2016.

Alves is a graduate of Hunter College in New York, where she majored in sociology and political science. She holds an MBA from Baruch College of the City University of New York.

Jennifer Bischoff has joined the Office of the Vice Provost for research at Vanderbilt University as executive director for research operations. She joined the staff at the university in 2011 and most recently has been finance director for vice provost support in academic affairs.

Bischoff is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, where she majored in economics and psychology. She earned a master’s degree in accountancy at Belmont University in Nashville.

Courtney Chartier is the new director of the Rare Book & Manuscript Library at Columbia University in New York City. She was the head of research services at the Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives & Rare Book Library at Emory University in Atlanta. She currently serves as president of the Society of American Archivists.

Chartier holds a bachelor’s degree in American studies and a master’s degree in information studies from the University of Texas at Austin. She also holds a master’s degree in southern studies from the University of Mississippi.
