Whitney Soule was appointed vice provost and dean of admissions at the University of Pennsylvania. She has been serving as senior vice president and dean of admissions and financial aid at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. Before joining the staff at Bowdoin College 13 years ago, Soule worked in admissions at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, and Connecticut College. Soule will begin her new job on July 1.
Soule graduated from Bates College and earned a master’s degree from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education.
Wendy Cadge, senior associate dean for strategic initiatives, division head for the social sciences, and the Barbara Mandel Professor of the Humanistic Social Sciences at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, has been selected as the new dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at the university. She will begin her new duties on June 1. Dr. Cadge joined the faculty in 2006 and has served as chair of the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality studies program. She is the author of Paging God: Religion in the Halls of Medicine (University of Chicago Press, 2012).
Professor Cadge is a graduate of Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, where she majored in anthropology and sociology. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in sociology at Princeton University in New Jersey.
Heather Antecol was appointed vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty at Claremont McKenna College in California. Dr. Antecol is the Boswell Professor of Economics at Claremont McKenna College. Her field of expertise is labor economics. Professor Antecol joined the faculty at Claremont McKenna College in 2001 and was promoted to full professor in 2009.
Dr. Antecol holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She earned a Ph.D. in economics at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
