Ten Women Who Have Been Appointed to Administrative Posts at Colleges and Universities

Frauke V. Josenhans was named an associate curator at the Moody Center for the Arts at Rice University in Houston, Texas. She was the Horace W. Goldsmith Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Yale University Art Gallery in New Haven, Connecticut. Earlier, she was a curator at the J. Paul Getty Museum and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Dr. Josenhans has graduate degrees in art history and museology from the Sorbonne and the École du Louvre in Paris, and a Ph.D. in art history from the Aix-Marseille Université in France.

Samira Malik has been promoted to associate vice president of advancement service and operations within the Division of Institutional Advancement at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. She most recently served as director of this department.

Malik is a graduate of the University of Maryland College Park where she majored in psychology. She earned a master’s degree in data analytics from the University of Maryland University College.

Jessica M. Woods has been appointed to the position of assistant to the chancellor at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. She will also serve as assistant secretary to the university’s board of trustees. Woods has been serving as executive assistant to the chief of staff at the university.

Woods is a graduate of Western Carolina University, where she majored in business administration.

Lauren S. Haynie was named the twelfth director of athletics at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. She has been serving as senior associate director of athletics at Wellesley College in Massachusetts.

Haynie graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2000 with a degree in kinesiology. She holds a master’s degree in education from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and an MBA, with an emphasis on sports management, from Southern New Hampshire University.

Hannah Bennett was appointed director of the Avery Architectural and Fine Arts Library at Columbia University. She was the director of three divisions of the University of Pennsylvania Libraries.

Bennett holds a master of library science degree from the University of Illinois and a master’s degree in medieval studies from the University of York in England.

Shaashawn S. Dial is the inaugural director of diversity, equity, and inclusion at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She had been serving as director of equity and affirmative action for the city of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Dial is a graduate of Stephens College, where she majored in philosophy, law, and rhetoric. She holds a master of public administration degree from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania and is completing work on a doctorate in administration and leadership studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Barbara DeCausey was appointed director of the Human Research Protection Program at Virginia Tech. For the past five years, she has served as director of the Human Research Protections Office at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

DeCausey holds a master of public health degree and an MBA.

Zsakiyah Brown is the new director of athletics for Unity College in Maine. She will also serve as coach for women’s volleyball and basketball. She was the assistant compliance officer for Paul Smith’s College in New York.

Brown is a graduate of the University of Maine at Fort Kent, where she majored in education and secondary mathematics. She is currently pursuing an MBA with a concentration in sports management.

Jennifer Caputo has been promoted to executive director of alumni engagement at Princeton University in New Jersey. She had been serving as director of operations in the Office of Alumni Affairs at the university. She has been on the university’s staff since 212.

Caputo holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and marketing from St. Mary’s College in Indiana.

Stephanie Delaney is the new vice president for instruction at Renton Technical College in Washington State. She is the former dean of academic programs for South Seattle Community College.

Dr. Delaney is a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She earned a juris doctorate at the University of California, San Diego, a master’s degree in environmental law at Vermont Law School and a Ph.D. in higher education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
