In Memoriam: Bonnie Roach, 1957-2019

Bonnie Roach, professor of business law and human resource management at Ohio University, passed away on June 18, 2019. She was 61 years old.
Dr. Roach began her career at Ohio University in 1989 as a faculty member in the management department. Over the course of her 31-year career, she taught courses in human resource management and business law. Her research interests included sexual harassment, employment law issues, and alternative dispute resolution.
Outside of Ohio University, she served as associate editor for the American Journal of Business and as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Employment and Labor Law. She was a member of the Academy of Management, the Association of Management, and the Society for Human Resources Management.
“Bonnie’s friendly personality and professional presence will certainly be missed in Copeland Hall,” said College of Business Dean Hugh Sherman. “She was a valuable member of our faculty and a great colleague during her esteemed academic career. I want to share my sincere condolences with her colleagues, friends and family.”
Dr. Roach was a graduate of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where she majored in psychology. She held a master’s degree in of labor and human resources, a Ph.D., and a law degree all from Ohio State University.
