Five Women Who Have Been Named to Endowed Faculty Positions

Suzannah Clark has been named a Harvard College Professor. She is the Morton B. Knafel Professor of Music and chair of Harvard’s department of music.

Dr. Clark holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from King’s College in London and a master of fine arts degree and a Ph.D. both from Princeton University.

Mary Murphy has been named a Class of 1948 Herman B. Wells Endowed Professor at Indiana University. She is a professor of psychological and brain sciences and also serves as associate vice provost for diversity and inclusion.

Dr. Murphy is a graduate of the University of Texas. She holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. both from Stanford University.

Ute Poerschke has been named the Stuckeman Professor of Advanced Design Studies at Pennsylvania State University. She has been a member of the Penn State faculty since 2000 and currently serves as interim head of the Penn State department of architecture.

Dr. Poerschke is a graduate of the Technical University of Munich in Germany. She holds a Ph.D. in architecture from the Brandenburg Technical University at Cottbus in Germany.

Nancy Netzer has been named the inaugural Robert L. and Judith T. Winston Director of the McMullen Museum of Art at Boston College. She also serves as a professor of art history and has been a member of the Boston College community since 1990.

Dr. Netzer is a graduate of Connecticut College. She holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University.

Martine Haas has been named the Anthony L. Davis Director of the Joseph H. Lauder Institute for Management & International Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. She has been a Penn faculty member since 2007.

Dr. Haas is an honors graduate of Oxford University where she majored in human sciences. She holds a master’s degree in international relations from Yale University and a master’s degree and Ph.D. both in sociology from Harvard University.
