Universities Announce the Appointment of Seven Women to High-Level Administrative Positions

April Whittemore Locklear has been named assistant director of employer relations in the Career Center at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She has been a member of the university’s staff since 2012. Most recently, Locklear was senior coordinator in the TRIO Student Support Services Office.

Locklear is a graduate of Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina, where she majored in education. She holds a master’s degree in mental health counseling and a master’s degree in human resource development both from Webster University in Missouri.

Medha Narvekar has been named vice president and university secretary at the University of Pennsylvania. She most recently served as senior associate vice president of the university’s Development and Alumni Relations Office.

Narvekar is a graduate of Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. She holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Trinice McNally has been named the founding director of the Center for Diversity, Inclusion, & Multicultural Affairs at the University of the District of Columbia. She most recently served as program manager of the HBCU LGBTQ-Equality Initiative at the National Black Justice Coalition, an LGBT advocacy organization based in Washington, D.C.

McNally holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in transformative leadership both from Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Katrice J. Morgan has been named the associate director of equity and diversity in the Office of Equity and Diversity at the University of Tennessee. She has been the assistant dean for student affairs and director of diversity and inclusion for the university’s College of Law since 2007.

Morgan holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Tennessee and a juris doctorate from the Loyola University College of Law in New Orleans.

Jennifer Aamodt has been promoted to director of university admissions at the University of North Dakota. She has been with university’s admissions office since 2012.

Aamodt holds a bachelor’s degree in social work and a master’s degree in counseling both from the University of North Dakota.

Petrina Jackson has been named director of the Special Collections Research Center at Syracuse University in New York. She has served as head of Special Collections and University Archives at Iowa State University since 2016.

Jackson is a graduate of the University of Toledo in Ohio where she majored in English. She holds a master’s degree in English from Iowa State University and a master of library and information science degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Grace Karmiol has been named Title IX coordinator and director for the Office of Civil Rights and Sexual Misconduct at the University of Maryland. She previously served as director of employee relations and Title IX coordinator at Widener University in Pennsylvania.

Karmiol is a high honors graduate of Syracuse University where she earned dual bachelor’s degrees in political science and communications. She holds a law degree from American University.
