Three New Women Department Chairs at Bowie State University in Maryland

LaTanya Brown-Robertson has been named interim chair of the department of accounting, economics, and finance. She has been a professor at Bowie State since 2005. Dr. Brown Robertson holds a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and Ph.D. all in economics from Howard University.

Gina Lewis has been named chair of the department of fine and performing arts. She has been a professor at Bowie State since 2005. Professor Lewis holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, cultural studies, and studio art from Norwich University and a master’s degree in painting and mixed media art from Howard University.

Altwan Whitefield has been named chair of the department of military science. She previously served as director of the United States Army Transportation Agency. The agency provides transportation to the First Family and coordinates presidential motorcades.
