Christine Spencer was appointed dean of the Yale Gordon College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Baltimore. She is a professor in the School of Health and Human Services and the School of Public and International Affairs. Dr. Spencer joined the faculty at the university in 2007 and has been serving as interim dean.
Dr. Spencer is a graduate of Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. She holds master’s and doctoral degrees in health policy and management from the Harvard School of Public Health.
The College of Nursing and Health Professions at Valparaiso University in Indiana has named Karen Allen as its next dean. She will take office on July 3. Dr. Allen has been serving as a professor of nursing at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Professor Allen is an associate editor of the Journal of Addictions Nursing. She served for four years as president of the International Nurses Society on Addiction.
Dr. Allen holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in nursing administration from Andrews University. She earned a Ph.D. in nursing sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Frame is a graduate of Denison University in Granville, Ohio. She holds a master’s degree from the University of New Hampshire and a doctorate in higher education from Florida State University.
Cindy Juntunen, the Chester Fritz Distinguished Professor of Counseling Psychology and Community Services at the University of North Dakota, was appointed dean of the College of Education and Human Development at the university. She has been serving as interim dean since February 2016.
Professor Juntunen joined the faculty at the University of North Dakota in 1994. She is a graduate of the University of North Dakota and holds a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
