Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, has hired nine new faculty members. Six of the appointees are women.
Naomi Fisher was appointed an assistant professor of philosophy. Her research is focused on Kant, nineteenth-century philosophy, and the philosophy of science. Dr. Fisher is a graduate of Biola University in La Miranda, California, where she majored in physics. She holds a master’s degree in physics from the University of California, Davis and a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.
Elizabeth Gilmore was hired as an associate professor of international development. She will begin teaching at Clark University in the fall of 2017. Dr. Gilmore has been serving as an assistant professor of public policy at the University of Maryland. Dr. Gilmore holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical and environmental engineering from the University of Toronto. She earned Ph.D. in engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
Ana Kamille Marcelo is a new assistant professor of psychology. One of the subjects of her research is ethnic identity in early childhood, particularly as related to encounters with bias and discrimination. Dr. Marcelo holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and law and society and a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of California, Riverside.
