A Trio of Women Appointed to Dean Positions

Lisa Prosser is the inaugural dean of the forthcoming School of Public Health at Wayne State University in Detroit. Dr. Prosser comes to her new deanship from the University of Michigan, where she served as associate vice president of research for health sciences and the Marilyn Fisher Blanch Research Professor of Pediatrics. As a public health scholar, she is known for her expertise in measuring childhood health interventions using methods of decision sciences and economics. Her work evaluating the cost-effectiveness of vaccination programs has been used in setting national vaccine policy for children and adults.

Dr. Prosser is a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, where she majored in mathematics with a concentration in operations research. She holds two master’s degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in health policy with a concentration in decision sciences from Harvard University.

Carolyn Keller has been promoted from interim dean to permanent dean of the College of Business, Industry, Life Science, and Agriculture at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Dr. Keller, a professor of sociology, has been a faculty member with the university since 2018. She has served in several leadership roles throughout her tenure, including director of assessment, associate provost, and assistant provost of graduate programs, assessment, teaching, and distance learning.

Dr. Keller is a graduate of Michigan State University, where she majored in international relations and social relations. She holds master’s degrees in sociology and Slavic and East European studies and a doctorate in sociology from Ohio State University.

Cynthia Gray has been named dean of nursing and allied health sciences at Florence-Darlington Technical College in South Carolina. Dr. Gray has served in the role on an interim basis for the past year. Before her interim appointment, she was director of programs for corporate and workforce development at the technical college. Dr. Gray previously served as healthcare program director at Spartanburg Community College in South Carolina.

Dr. Gray is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in English and her master’s degree in counseling. She holds a master’s degree in business from Webster University and a doctorate in higher education leadership from Northcentral University.
