Kathy Brittain Richardson, the fifteenth president of Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, has announced her intent to retire on June 30, 2027.
Dr. Richardson began her presidency in 2016. Over the past decade, Westminster College has completed more than $50 million in campus improvements, added a new bachelor’s degree in nursing and an MBA program, and established new entrepreneurship and student success centers. Under Dr. Richardson’s leadership, the college has also upgraded its athletics facilities and added four varsity sports.
“My confidence in Westminster’s future has never been stronger,” said Dr. Richardson. “Guided by its enduring values and inspired by the people who make this institution so special, Westminster will continue to transform lives, prepare principled leaders, and serve as a force for good in this region and beyond.”
Before assuming her current role, Dr. Richardson was provost and a professor of communication at Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia. A summa cum laude graduate of Shorter College in Rome, Georgia, she earned a master’s degree in journalism and a doctorate in mass communication from the University of Georgia.
