Susan Glenn was named interim vice president for university advancement at Florida State University and president of the Florida State University Foundation. With more than 30 years of professional experience, Glenn has been serving as the university’s associate vice president of advancement for colleges, schools, and units since December 2023. She has previously held advancement leadership roles at the University of Central Florida, Rock Valley College in Illinois, Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center, the Duke University School of Nursing, and other nonprofit organizations.
Glenn received her bachelor’s degree in corporate communications from Northern Illinois University.
Becky Culyba has been appointed vice provost for academic strategy and engagement and chief of staff to the provost at Emory University in Atlanta. Her appointment marks a return to university, where she previously taught in the School of Medicine. Most recently, Dr. Culyba was vice provost for strategic initiatives and chief of staff to the provost at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
Dr. Culyba is a graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, where she majored in communication. She holds a master’s degree in communication, culture, and society from the University of London and a Ph.D. in sociology from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
Loria Oliver has been named senior director of philanthropic initiatives at the University of Arkansas. Oliver first joined the university in October 2024 as director of development for student affairs. Previously, she was chief development officer for Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Oliver received her bachelor’s degree in mass communication and public relations from Clark Atlanta University.
Michelle V. Joyce was named vice president for institutional research, innovation, and strategy at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. Dr. Joyce currently serves as Notre Dame’s associate vice president of campaign administration, corporate and foundation relations, and academic advancement. Previously, she was executive director of the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the university.
Dr. Joyce is an alumna of the University of Notre Dame, where she majored in chemistry. She holds a doctorate in analytical chemistry from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
Patricia Langer has been appointed vice president of finance and administration at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. For the past five years, Langer has served as vice president of administration and finance at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. Earlier in her tenure there, she served as associate vice president of finance and assistant vice president of finance. Before joining Macalester, she was the budget director at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota.
Langer received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her master of public administration degree from University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Rashanda L. Lowery is vice president of student affairs at Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, Lowery most recently served as executive director of student activities and campus involvement at North Carolina A&T State University. Before that role, she spent more than a decade in the university’s Office of General Counsel.
Lowery earned both her bachelor’s degree in political science and her juris doctorate from North Carolina Central University.
Jennifer Bell was named interim director of athletics at Tennessee State University. Bell first joined the university in 1991 as an assistant women’s basketball coach. She later transitioned into athletics administration, serving in various roles in compliance, student services, and student-athlete development. Most recently, she was executive senior associate athletic director for student-athlete services and senior woman administrator.
Bell is a graduate of Fisk University in Nashville, where she majored in political science. She holds a master’s degree in sport administration from Tennessee State University.
Corey Kelly is the new vice president for student affairs at Boston College. Dr. Kelly has been a member of the college’s division of student affairs team for the past 13 years. Before her recent promotion, she served as associate vice president and dean of students. Her other prior leadership roles at Boston College include assistant dean, associate dean, and director of student conduct.
Dr. Kelley is a three-time graduate of Boston College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master of social work degree, and a Ph.D. in higher education.
Melanie Clague is executive assistant dean for administration and finance in the College of Engineering at the University of California, Davis. Clague has been with the college for the past six years, most recently serving as senior director of finance. Earlier, she served as the director of operations for the division of extended studies at Colorado State University Pueblo.
Dr. Clague holds an MBA from Colorado State University Pueblo and a doctor of business administration degree from Northcentral University.
Michelle Curtain Stewart is interim vice president of academic affairs at Caldwell University in New Jersey. Dr. Stewart comes to her role with more than three decades of experience in faculty and administrative roles. She has previously served as president of the Institute for Clinical Social Work in Chicago, vice president of academic affairs at Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee, and interim provost at Adler University in Chicago.
Dr. Stewart is a graduate of Alcorn State University in Mississippi, where she majored in political science. She received her master’s degree in sociology and her doctorate in educational leadership from Indiana University.
Fiona Barkley is director of athletics at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina. Barkley has served in several roles in athletics at the women’s colleges since she first joined as head volleyball coach in 2007. Most recently, she was associate athletic director for internal affairs and senior woman administrator.
Barkley received her bachelor’s degree in sports management from Elon University in North Carolina and her MBA with a concentration in sports administration from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida.
Sheila Wold McKinnis is director of development for the College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. McKinnis has been serving as associate director of development in the university’s Office of Alumni and Development. Previously, she served two decades as owner of The Pilates Studio of Little Rock. Earlier, she was business director for Ballet Arkansas.
McKinnis earned her bachelor’s degree in dance from the University of North Texas.
