Allyson Bear is the new president and CEO of Jhpiego, the Johns Hopkins University-affiliated global health organization dedicated to improving the health and lives of women and families worldwide.
With over 25 years of professional experience, Dr. Bear is the founder and CEO of VennHealth, a Baltimore-based public health consulting firm. She has also served in leadership roles at Corus International, Abt Global, and the United States Agency for International Development. Earlier, she co-founded the International Vaccine Access Center at Johns Hopkins. Throughout her career, Dr. Bear has worked in more than 45 countries, including 11 years of residence in multiple countries across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

A graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, Dr. Bear earned her master’s degree and doctorate in international health from Johns Hopkins University’s Bloomberg School of Public Health
