The Women’s Philanthropy Institute at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at the Indiana University/Purdue University campus in Indianapolis, has announced that Maureen O’Gara Hackett was given the Shaw-Hardy Taylor Achievement Award. The award recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to women’s philanthropy. Hackett is chair of the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy’s board of visitors and chair of the board of the Menninger Clinic Foundation. Among her many philanthropic efforts was the establishment of the Eileen Lamb O’Gara Chair in Women’s Philanthropy at Indiana University. The chair was named in honor of Hackett’s mother.
Debra Mesch, director of the Women’s Philanthropy Institute, stated, “In endowing the Eileen Lamb O’Gara Chair, Maureen has solidified the field of study about gender and philanthropy. She has deepened its roots and created a strong foundation from which research about gender differences in philanthropy and women’s philanthropy will help redefine the philanthropic landscape.”
Dr. Weir is a senior lecturer of global affairs at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs. She was recently named the inaugural executive director of the Jackson School's new Center for Peace and the Global Good, a hub for scholars and students working to address challenges in human rights and global health.
Dr. Maggioni comes to her new role with more than 15 years of teaching and leadership experience in higher education. Most recently, she was assistant provost at Massachusetts Bay Community College
Dr. Blankenbaker has served as president of the Tarrant County College Northwest campus since 2017. She recently assumed additional responsibilities as the chief academic officer for the community college's online and in-person campuses.
Most recently, Dr. Hooyman was vice president of academic affairs and provost of Northwest Missouri State University. She was the first woman to serve in that role.
Born and raised in Alaska, Dr. O'Hara previously spent more than two decades with the College of Education at California State University, Sacramento. More recently, she was executive director of Sierra College's Nevada County Campus.
