Seven Women Taking on New Administrative Roles in Higher Education

BeverlySharon Beverly was named assistant vice president for student affairs and director of athletics and recreation at The College of New Jersey in Ewing. Since July 2004, Dr. Beverly has been the director of athletics and physical education at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. She will begin her new job on March 1.

Dr. Beverly is a graduate of Queens College of the City University of New York. She played professional basketball before returning to school to earn a master’s degree at Queens College and a doctorate in higher education leadership from Capella University.

SticeJessica Stice was named director of annual giving at Pittsburg State University in Kansas. She has been serving as agent and owner of Shelter Insurance in Pittsburg and previously worked for Clemens Insurance and Coca-Cola Refreshments.

Stice is a graduate of Pittsburg State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing.

DiPasalegneJoslyn DiPasalegne was appointed director of events and special programs in the Division of Institutional Advancement at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg. She is a former development officer and events coordinator for the Chicago Theological Seminary.

DiPasalegne is a graduate of the National College of Education in Chicago. She is working on a master’s degree in administration from Central Michigan University.

Lucy Forster-Smith was nLucy Foster-Smithamed Sedgwick Chaplain to the University and senior minister in the Memorial Church at Harvard University. For the past 20 years, she has been chaplain and associate dean for religious life at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Dr. Forster-Smith is the editor of College & University Chaplaincy in the 21st Century: A Multifaith Look at the Practice of Ministry on Campuses Across America (SkyLight Paths Publishing, 2013). She holds master’s and doctoral degrees in divinity from the Princeton Theological Seminary.

Dom_Behr_cropEileen Behr is the new director of police operations at Drexel University in Philadelphia. She is the former sheriff of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. She was the first woman to hold the post. Behr has had a 37-year career in law enforcement.

Behr will have authority over 38 sworn police officers with full law enforcement authority on Drexel’s three campuses.

SGrahamSharon Graham was appointed interim executive director of continuing education for the University of Kansas. She has been serving as program associate for the University of Kansas-Madison and the Lila Self Graduate Fellowship program.

Graham is a graduate of the University of Missouri, where she majored in journalism. She holds a master’s degree in business from the University of Kansas.

Jennifer Eury was named the inaugural direceurytor of honor and integrity at the Smeal College of Business of Pennsylvania State University. She had been serving as director of alumni relations for the Smeal College of Business.

Eury holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations and a master’s degree in higher education from Penn State. She is a doctoral candidate in higher education at the university.
