Bucks County Community College in Pennsylvania Appoints Felicia Ganther as Its Next President

The board of trustees of Bucks County Community College in Newtown, Pennsylvania, has unanimously selected Felicia L. Ganther to serve as the college’s fifth president. She will take office on July 1.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to build on the strong foundation at Bucks County Community College,” Dr. Ganthre said. “With our continued focus on the implementation of our strategic commitments, a successful reaccreditation, and efforts towards inclusivity, Bucks will continue to innovate and reimagine how we serve and support our students towards transfer opportunities and career placement. I am honored to have been selected as the next president of the College and look forward to becoming a part of this wonderful community.”

Founded in 1964, Bucks County Community College is a two-year, public institution that offers more than 80 programs of study that lead to either an associate degree or certificate. The college enrolls nearly 7,500 students, according to the most recent data available from the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 57 percent of the student body.

Since 2012, Dr. Ganther has been serving as associate vice chancellor for student affairs at Maricopa Community Colleges in Arizona. Earlier she was the executive director of the College of Lake County in Grayslake, Illinois.

Originally from Los Angeles, California, Felicia holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Norfolk State University in Virginia. She earned a juris doctorate from the University of Illinois at Chicago’s John Marshall Law School and a Ph. D. in community resources and development from Arizona State University.
