Three Women Named to Regents Positions at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta

Margaret L. Loper has been conferred the title of Regents Researcher. She is the chief scientist of the Information & Communications Laboratory, and the principal research scientist at the Georgia Tech Research Institute. Her current research is in the area of computational trust algorithms for machine-to-machine communications.
Dr. Loper is a graduate of Clemson University in South Carolina, where she majored in electrical engineering. She holds a master’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Central Florida and a Ph.D. in computer science from Georgia Tech.
Elizabeth Mynatt has been conferred the title of Regents Professor. She is a Distinguished Professor in the College of Computing and the executive director of the Institute for People and Technology. She also directs the Everyday Computing Lab where she conducts research on the design and evaluation of health information technologies.
Dr. Mynatt is a summa cum laude graduate of North Carolina State University where she majored in computer science. She holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. both in computer science from Georgia Tech.
Haesun Park has been conferred the title of Regents Professor. She is a tenured professor of computational science and engineering in the College of Computing and the director of the Center for Data Analytics. She has been a Georgia Tech faculty member since 2005.
Dr. Park is a summa cum laude graduate of Seoul National University in Korea where she majored in mathematics. She holds a master’s degree in computer science and a Ph.D. in computer science with a minor in mathematics both from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
