Four Women Named to Faculty Positions at Claremont McKenna College in California

Sarah Budischak has been named assistant professor of biology. She was previously a postdoctoral research associate at Princeton University in New Jersey. Dr. Budischak is a graduate of Davidson College in North Carolina where she double majored in biology and chemistry. She also holds a master’s degree in wildlife science from Virginia Tech and a Ph.D. in ecology, biology, and wildlife disease from the University of Georgia.

Rima Basu has been named assistant professor of philosophy. This will be her first faculty position in higher education. Dr. Basu holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Toronto and a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Southern California.

Tessa Solomon-Lane has been named assistant professor of biology. She was previously a postdoctoral fellow in the department of integrative biology at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Solomon-Lane holds a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and behavior from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, and a master’s degree and Ph.D. from the Neuroscience Institute at Georgia State University.

Helen Wong has been named associate professor of mathematics. She was previously an associate professor at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. Dr. Wong holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Pomona College in Claremont, California, as well as a two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in mathematics from Yale University.
