Three Women Named to Endowed Professorships at Kalamazoo College in Michigan

Kalamazoo College in Michigan enrolls more than 1,400 students. Women make up 56 percent of the student body. Recently, the college announced the appointment of four faculty members to endowed professorships. Three of these appointments went to women.

Hannah Apps was appointed the Thomas K. Kreilick Professor of Economics. Professor Apps joined the faculty at Kalamazoo College in 1989. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned a Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania. Professor Apps is the former mayor of the city of Kalamazoo.

Kyla Day Fletcher was named the Lucinda H. Stone Assistant Professor of Psychology at Kalamazoo College. She joined the faculty at the college in 2012. Dr. Fletcher is a summa cum laude graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C. She earned a Ph.D. in developmental psychology at the University of Michigan.

Sarah Lindley was appointed the Arcus Social Justice Leadership Professor of Art. She joined the college’s faculty in 2001 and teaches courses in ceramics, sculpture, and woodshop. Professor Findley is a magna cum laude graduate of the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. She holds a master of fine arts degree in ceramics from the University of Washington.
