Teresa Boyer to Direct the New Institute for Women’s Leadership at Villanova University

Teresa BoyerVillanova University in Pennsylvania has announced that Teresa M. Boyer will serve as the founding director of the new Anne Welsh McNulty Institute for Women’s Leadership on campus. She will also serve as an associate professor of education and counseling, effective July 31.

The new center will focus on women’s advancement through “education, advocacy, community-building and the collaborative creation of new knowledge.”

Since 2008, Dr. Boyer has served as executive director of the Center for Women and Work at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She is also an assistant research professor at Rutgers. Earlier, she was an administrator at the Women’s Educational Equity Act Equity Assistance Center at the U.S. Department of Education.

Dr. Boyer is a graduate of Villanova University, where she majored in secondary education. She holds a master’s degree and an educational doctorate from the University of Alabama.
