One Woman Among the Three Finalists for Chancellor of the University of Hawaii

The University of Hawaii at Manoa has announced a field of three finalists for chancellor of the state’s flagship campus. One of the three finalists is a woman.

Lauren Robel is executive vice president and provost at Indiana University in Bloomington. Also, she is the Val Nolan Professor of Law in the university’s law school. Professor Robel served as dean of the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University from 2002 to 2011 and earlier was associate dean from 1991 to 2002. She first joined the faculty at the law school in 1985. Her research focuses on the role of federal courts.

Professor Robel is a 1978 graduate of Auburn University in Alabama. She earned her law degree at Indiana University in 1983.
