The New President of Cañada College in Redwood City, California

The board of trustees of the San Mateo County Community College District in California has named Jamillah Moore as the eleventh president of Cañada College in Redwood City. The college enrolls about 6,500 students and women make up 63 percent of the student body.
Dr. Moore was selected from among 47 applicants for the job as president of Cañada College. She had been serving as interim vice chancellor of educational services and planning for the San Mateo County Community College District. Earlier, she served as interim president of Compton Community College, president of Los Angeles City College, and chancellor of the Ventura County Community College District.
Dr. Moore holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and a master’s degree in intercultural communication and public policy from California State University, Sacramento. She earned a doctorate in international and multicultural education from the University of San Francisco.
