Louise Pagotto to Lead Kapiolani Community College in Hawaii

The board of regents of the University of Hawaii has announced that Louise Pagotto will serve as interim chancellor of Kapiolani Community College in Honolulu. According to the latest U.S. Department of Education data, the college enrolls nearly 8,000 students. Women make up 57 percent of the student body.
For the past 16 years, Dr. Pagatto has served as vice chancellor for academic affairs at the college. She joined the faculty at the college in 1989 and has served in many faculty and administrative posts.
Dr. Pagatto is a graduate of the University of Montreal. She taught high school in Papua New Guinea for six years before returning to Montreal to earn a master’s degree in linguistics at McGill University. She holds a Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
