Cornell’s Robin Davisson to Lead the Melanoma Research Alliance

Davisson460Robin Davisson, the Andrew Dickson White Professor of Molecular Physiology at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, has been appointed president and CEO of the Melanoma Research Alliance. Her duties as president of the alliance will be phased in gradually as she completes her obligations at Cornell.

The Melanoma Research Alliance is charity founded in 2007 under the auspices of the Milken Institute. To date the alliance has provided nearly $68 million for research on the prevention and treatment of melanoma.

Professor Davisson has been on the faculty at Cornell since 2006. Previously, she served on the faculty at the University of Iowa for eight years. Professor Davisson holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology and a Ph.D. in pharmacology, all from the University of Iowa.
