Two Women Announce Their Retirements After Long Careers at Flagship State Universities

Patricia A. Chase has been named dean emerita of the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy. She had served as the Gates Wigner Dean of the school for the past nine years. Dr. Chase is the immediate past-president of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
Dr. Chase is a graduate of the Albany College of Pharmacy in New York. She holds a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a doctorate in educational administration from the University of Colorado.
Cathleen Middleton, associate chief information officer at the University of Arkansas, has announced her retirement as of September 8. She has served in various information technology services at the university for the past 36 years.
Middleton graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in computer sciences. She was a member of one of the first graduating classes of computer science majors at the university.
