Victoria Groves-Scott is the new dean of the College of Education at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. She was the assistant dean of the School of Education, Health, and Human Behavior at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.
Dr. Groves-Scott is a graduate of Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. She earned a master’s degree in special education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and an educational doctorate from the University of Kansas.
Audrey W. Beard was named interim dean of the School of Education at North Carolina Central University in Durham. She was a tenured professor of early childhood education at Albany State University in Georgia. Dr. Beard was also director of clinical experiences and chair of the department of teacher education at the university.
Dr. Beard is a graduate of Fort Valley State University in Georgia, where she majored in early childhood education. She earned a master’s degree from Clark Atlanta University and an educational doctorate in early childhood education and education administration and supervision from Jackson State University in Mississippi.
Anne D’Alleva was named dean of the School of Fine Arts at the University of Connecticut. She is a professor of art and professor of art history at the university. Professor D’Alleva joined the faculty at the University of Connecticut in 1999. Dr. D’Alleva is the author of Arts of the Pacific Islands (Yale University Press, 2010).
Professor D’Alleva is a graduate of Harvard University, where she majored in art history. She holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University.
Lyn Redington was appointed assistant vice president and dean of students at the University of Iowa. Since July 2008, Dr. Redington has been director of residence life at the University of North Iowa. She served on the staff at the University of Northern Iowa for 21 years.
Dr. Redington holds bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees, all from Iowa State University.
Currently provost at The Citadel in South Carolina, Dr. Selden previously worked for the University of Lynchburg for 18 years, ultimately serving as provost. She is slated to return to the university as president on July 1.
Dr. Wisdom, superintendent of New Bloomfield R-III Schools in Missouri, is a four-time graduate of William Woods University. She is slated to assume the presidency of alma mater on July 1.
Sylvia Hurtado of the University of California, Los Angeles is president-elect of the American Educational Research Association. Marrielle Myers of Kennesaw State University in Georgia is president-elect of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators.
Dr. Cautin, provost of Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, brings over two decades of higher education experience to her new role as president of Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts. She is slated to begin her presidency on July 1.
