Grants or Gifts Relating to Women in Higher Education

Here is this week’s news of grants and gifts that may be of particular interest to women in higher education.

A consortium of educational institutions in the Ithaca, New York, area received a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration to support women-owned businesses in the area. Ithaca Startup Works is a joint effort by Ithaca College, Cornell University, and Tompkins Cortland Community College.

Meredith College, the liberal arts educational institution for women in Raleigh, North Carolina, received an anonymous $100,000 gift to support the college’s academic program in criminology. The grant will fund a visiting professor position in criminology and sociology.
