Janet Behrend Is the New President of the Reading Recovery Council of North America

behrendJanet Behrend, a reading recovery trainer at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, is the new president of the Reading Recovery Council of North America. The council represents 5,000 reading recovery educators, who help beginning readers, who are struggling, reach grade level.

Prior to coming to the University of Arkansas Little Rock, Dr. Behrend worked at the Kansas City, Missouri School District as a classroom teacher. She holds a master’s degree in reading education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a doctorate in educational administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
