In Memoriam: Samira Sayeh, 1969-2014

Samira Sayeh, associate professor in the department of French and Italian at the University of Kansas, died last month from cancer. She was 44 years old.
Sayeh joined the faculty at the university in 2005 and also had a courtesy appointment in the African and African American studies program. She was promoted to associate professor in 2011. From 2012 until her death, she was the director of the Haitian Studies Institute at the university.
