The New Co-Editor of The Southern Review

Emily Nemens was named co-editor and prose editor at The Southern Review, a literary journal published quarterly by the Louisiana State University Press. She is the author of the short story collection, Scrub (Shady Lane Press, 2007).
A native of Seattle, Nemens is a magna cum laude graduate of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She studied fine art in Madrid and interned at the Smithsonian’s Archives of American Art before moving to Brooklyn, where she worked at the Metropolitan Museum and American Institute of Architects. Nemens came to Louisiana in 2011 to enroll in the master of fine arts program in creative writing at Louisiana State University.
