Two Women Scholars Granted Emerita Status at Bowdoin College

Bowdoin College, the highly rated liberal arts institution in Brunswick, Maine, has announced the retirements of five faculty members. Two of the five retiring professors are women and both have been granted emerita status.
Linda Docherty was an associate professor of art history at Bowdoin. She is a graduate of Cornell University and holds a master’s degree from the University of Chicago and a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Rosemary Roberts was named professor emerita of mathematics. She is a graduate of the University of Reading and holds a Ph.D. from Waterloo University in Ontario, Canada.
