In Memoriam: Susan Elizabeth Lanzendorf, 1958-2013

LanzendorfSusan Lanzendorf, an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology and director of the In Vitro Fertilization Laboratory at Washington University in St. Louis died last month after suffering from pancreatic cancer. She was 54 years old.

Dr. Lanzendorf joined the faculty at Washington University in 2002 and was an expert in male fertility issues. Prior to coming to Washington University, she was director of gamete and embryo research at the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Professor Lanzendorf was a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. She held a Ph.D. in biology from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, University.
