Five Women in New Administrative Assignments in Higher Education

joann_mckenzieJoAnn McKenzie was promoted to registrar at Emory University in Atlanta. She has served in the post on an interim basis for the past seven months and previously was associate registrar.

McKenzie has worked in the registrar’s office at Emory for 11 years. She began her career at Emory in the Office of Institutional Research.

KnappElizabethElizabeth Knapp was named senior assistant to the president and director of the Johnson Program in Leadership and Integrity at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. She is an associate professor of geology at the university and has been serving as associate provost.

Dr. Knapp is a graduate of Washington and Lee and holds a Ph.D. in environmental science from the University of Virginia.

WitherowMelissa Gentry Witherow was promoted to director of alumnae relations and annual giving at Sweet Briar College in Virginia. She has been on the staff at the college since 2004, serving as associate director of annual giving and assistant and associate director of the alumnae office.

Witherow is a 1980 graduate of Sweet Briar College with a degree in international affairs.

Jeanie Andrews, Penn State Office of the Board of Trustees.Jeanie Andrews was named director of the Office of the Board of Trustees at Pennsylvania State University. She has been serving as assistant to the vice provost of academic affairs at the university. She joined the staff at Penn State in 1996 as an employee relations officer.

Andrews is a 1990 graduate of Penn State with a bachelor’s degree in management.

Joffrey Gaymon was appointed assistant vice president for enrollment affairs at the University of West Florida in Pensacola. Her appointment is effective on July 15. She has been serving as assistant vice chancellor for enrollment management and director of admissions at the University of South Carolina Beaufort.

Gaymon holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Georgia College & State University. She is completing work on a doctorate in higher education administration.
