Valerie Nixon to Lead Alfred State College

Valerie B. Nixon was named interim president of Alfred State College, part of the State University of New York system. Since July 2012 she has been serving as executive vice president at the college. Previously, she served for four years as vice president for enrollment management. She joined the administration at Alfred State in 1987. Nixon will assume the role of interim president on April 1 and serve until a new president is found through a nationwide search.
Nixon holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from SUNY Fredonia and a master of professional studies degree in community services administration from Alfred University.
