Peggy Newell Appointed Deputy Provost at Harvard

Peggy Newell vice provost at Tufts University, was named to the new post of deputy provost at Harvard University. She will start at Harvard on November 1.
Newell has been on the staff at Tufts University since 1982 when she was named registrar at the Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences. She later became assistant dean and associate dean at the Sackler School. In 1998 Newell was promoted to associate provost for research at Tufts. She has serve as vice provost since 2004.
A graduate of Boston College, where she majored in psychology, Newell went on to earn an MBA from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College and a JD degree from Suffolk University Law School.
