Sue Henderson Will Be the First Woman to Lead New Jersey City University

Sue Henderson was selected as the twelfth president of New Jersey City University in Jersey City. The highly diverse urban university, enrolls about 6,600 undergraduate students and close to 2,000 graduate students. Women make up 61 percent of the undergraduate student body.
When she takes office in August, Dr. Henderson will be the first woman to hold the post. Dr. Henderson has been serving as vice president of institutional advancement and chief operating officer at Queens College, part of the City University of New York system.
Dr. Henderson, a mathematician, holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Georgia State University. She earned an educational doctorate at the University of Georgia.
