Two New Associate Deans at the University of Arizona

The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the University of Arizona has named four new associate deans. Two of the new associate deans are women.
Joy Winzerling was named Bart Cardon Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Career Development. A registered dietician, she has been serving as professor and chair of the department of nutritional sciences at the University of Arizona. She has been on the faculty since 1980.
Dr. Winzerling holds a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and a Ph.D. in nutritional sciences from the University of Arizona.
Soyeon Shim is the inaugural associate dean for strategic initiatives. She will continue in her role as director of the Norton School of Family and Consumer Sciences and professor of retailing and consumer sciences.
Dr. Shim holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. She earned a Ph.D. in human ecology from the University of Tennessee.
