New University Administrative Posts for Seven Women

Sally-Stone-RichmondSally Stone Richmond was appointed vice president for admission and financial aid at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. She has been serving as dean of admission at Occidental College in Los Angeles. She joined the staff at Occidental College in 2006 and was promoted to dean in 2012.

Richmond is a graduate of Davidson College in North Carolina. She holds a master’s degree in education from Harvard University.

Thompson_MikahMikah K. Thompson was named director of affirmative action and EEO and Title IX coordinator at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She has been serving as an attorney for the law firm Osman & Smay and as an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.

Thompson earned her law degree at Washington University in St. Louis.

victoria_wright_featureVictoria Wright was appointed associate vice president for planning and administration at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Wright joined the staff at the university in 2013 as associate dean in the university’s Weatherhead School of Management. Previously, she had a long career in the banking industry.

Wright is a graduate of Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She earned an MBA at the University of Dayton.

jewel_washingtonJewel Washington is the new assistant vice president of human resources at the University of Maryland, College Park. She was interim vice president of human resources at the University of New Mexico. She had been on the staff at the University of New Mexico since 2000.

Washington is a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University in Portales. She holds a master’s degree in human resources development from Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri.

DianeAmannDiane Marie Amann is the inaugural associate dean for international programs and strategic initiatives at the University of Georgia School of Law. Professor Amann joined the faculty at the law school in 2011 and holds the Emily and Ernest Woodruff Chair in International Law.

Professor Amann is a graduate of the University of Illinois and the Northwestern University School of Law. She also holds a master’s degree in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles and a doctorate from the University of Utrecht in The Netherlands.

malleryWTaniecea Arceneaux Mallery was named director of equity, diversity, and community engagement at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. She was a senior diversity research specialist at the Association of American Medical Colleges in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Mallery is a graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in applied and computational mathematics from Princeton University in New Jersey.

VanValkenburgGretchen R. VanValkenburg was appointed vice president for alumni affairs and executive director of the Alumni Association at Auburn University in Alabama. She has been serving as executive director of development and alumni engagement at the University of West Florida in Pensacola. She has been on the staff at the University of West Florida since 1997.

VanValkenburg is a graduate of the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University.
