Angela Christine Bauer Named Executive Vice President and Provost of Texas Woman’s University

Angela Christine Bauer has been appointed executive vice president for academic affairs and provost of Texas Woman’s University, effective June 1.

Dr. Bauer currently serves as the senior vice president for academic affairs at High Point University in North Carolina. She first joined the university in 2013 as a professor and chair of the biology department, ultimately teaching for seven years before transitioning to an administrative career. In 2019, she became the founding dean of the Wanek School of Natural Sciences. One year later, she was appointed vice president of academic affairs and was promoted to her current role in 2022.

Before joining High Point University, Dr. Bauer spent 16 years with the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. During this time, she served as a professor, chair of the human biology department, chair of the women’s and gender studies department, and special assistant to the provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs.

Dr. Bauer is a graduate of Lawrence University in Wisconsin where she double-majored in psychology and neuroscience. She holds a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Northwestern University in Illinois.
