With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Bailey most recently served as director for research development at Virginia State University. A scholar of early childhood education, she has held academic and leadership roles with numerous universities across the United States.

The new deans are Nancy Kirkpatrick, Michelle Froese, Niki Callison, Diane Reich, Jennifer Chatman, Alexia Hudson-Ward, Julie Thornton, Mukta Panda, Sharmila Anandasabapathy, Jodi Mills, Jewel Bronaugh, and Tamara Sumner.

The new deans are Bonnie Rush at Texas A&M University, Courtney Anderson at Georgia State University, Kirsten Martin at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Jessica Brooks at Virginia State University, and Jilian Trabulsi at the University of Delaware.

Dr. Void taught early childhood education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania for nearly two decades, including 13 years of service as chair of her department. Earlier in her career, she taught at Norfolk State University in Virginia.

Peggy Davis was in her 27th year with Virginia State University's department of athletics at the time of her passing. Throughout her career, she received several awards for her work in intercollegiate athletics, including the CIAA Athletic Director of the Year on seven separate occasions.

Dr. Walker-Griffea has been serving as the first woman and first African American president of Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan. She has significant experience in community college leadership, having held academic and administrative posts at schools across the country.

The new provosts are Daphne Lamothe at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, Paige Turner at Aurora University in Illinois, and Tia Minnis at Virginia State University.

Dr. Marti has served as interim president since January 2, 2023. Earlier, she was president of Fairmont State University in West Virginia from 2018 to 2022 and president of Fort Hays State University in Kansas from 2014 to 2016.

A long-time educator in several public school systems in Virginia, Dr. Green concluded her career serving as dean at both Virginia Union University and Virginia State University.

Esther A. H. Hopkins was a biophysicist, chemist, educator, and environmental attorney. She taught for several years at what is now Virginia State University before embarking on a career as a research scientist.
